  • February 5, 2014

Current BTCC Jack Sears Champion Lea Wood will defend his title in 2014 along with contesting the overall BTCC Championship title in a newly built NGTC Toyota Avensis

Wood who domineered the Jack Sears Championship in 2013 will return in his new machinery built and run by the newly formed Houseman Racing Team

Wood said, “I’m really excited to be back in the most prestigious championship in the UK. 2013 was a fantastic year for us as we took 18 wins from a possible 30 in the Jack Sears trophy”.

“Our focus throughout the latter part of last year was to capitalise on our success and raise the budget to make the huge leap forward into an NGTC car and defend our title in 2014”.

“Our existing family run team JWT Performance, has joined hands with Rob Houseman the CEO of The Houseman Group. With his financial backing and our existing infrastructure, we have formed the newly modelled team, Houseman Racing.

Rob Houseman will become our team principle alongside Greg Wood who will both share duties.

The race car will be a newly built NGTC Toyota Avensis sporting the familiar Houseman Branding alongside new sponsor Morris Lubricants, plus seasoned campaigners Wheelheaven, Central Group & S & P

“We are very proud to have Morris Lubricants on board for 2014. Morris are a major player in the oil industry for the supply of performance lubricants and the BTCC is a superb platform to promote this”.

Wood’s new Toyota Avensis will be unveiled on Media Day at Donington Park on the 18th March 2014.
